What We Have Been Up To Lately at Flexi Removals and Storage

As a removal company in Lancashire, the diary has been full lately, so we thought we would write a quick post about some of the jobs we have had on over the past couple of weeks. It gives you a bit of an idea of the sort of work we do day to day, and it is not always what people expect. Some weeks are long distance house moves, some are quick local jobs, and quite a few involve our storage. The last fortnight has had a bit of everything.

Chorley to the coast

The big one this week is a full house pack over in Chorley, with the actual move happening a few days later out to Lytham St Annes. We went in first to pack the whole house up properly, then we come back later in the week to load up and drive it over to the coast.

We do like doing it this way when the customer has the time for it. The packing is honestly the part most people dread. Wrapping every plate, finding boxes that are actually strong enough, working out how on earth to pack the loft. So we take that off them. By the time moving day comes round there is no panic, because everything is already boxed, labelled and ready to go. If you want a hand with the packing rather than just the lifting, have a look at our packing service.

A quick one in Bury

Not everything is a big drive though. We also did a nice local move in Bury, just from one side of town to the other, BL8 across to BL9.

People always think the short moves will be easy. The new place is five minutes up the road, so how hard can it be. Then they start doing it themselves in the back of the car and twelve trips later they are still going, the sofa will not fit and they have run out of weekend. That is the bit we save you. Van loaded, driven across, unloaded, done. No drama and nothing scratched.

Packing a house straight into storage

Wednesday and Thursday were a different sort of job. We packed up a full house over in Blackburn, but this one was not going to a new address. The customer needed it all putting into storage, so we brought the lot over to our own storage in Darwen, where it is sitting safe and dry until they need it back.

This happens more than you might think. Sometimes a sale falls through right at the last minute. Sometimes the new place is not ready yet and there is a gap to cover. Sometimes people are off abroad for a while and just want their things looked after properly. Because the storage is ours, we can do the pack, the move and the storing all ourselves, so the same faces handle your stuff from start to finish. There is more about it on our storage page if it is something you are weighing up.

And one coming back out

It works the other way too. We had another customer whose belongings had been in storage with us in Darwen, and the time finally came to get it all back out and into their new home over in Accrington.

That is a good day, that one. You are usually catching people right at the end of a stressful stretch, finally getting the keys and getting their own things back around them. And because we had packed and stored it ourselves, we knew exactly what was what and where it all went, so it went out as smoothly as it went in.

Plenty going on around Leyland and Preston

The rest of the fortnight has been the local stuff around Leyland and Preston, which is really our patch. We have had loads of moves within Leyland itself, people shifting from one part of PR25 to another. We took someone from Bamber Bridge over towards the Farington side of Leyland, and we handled removals in Preston for another family who had moved over from Chorley.

These are the jobs we do week in and week out, and after this long at it you get to know the area inside out. You learn which streets are a nightmare to park on, which staircases are going to be tight, and how to get a three seater around a sharp landing without taking a chunk out of the wall. It does not sound like much, but knowing all that ahead of time is what keeps a move running on schedule instead of falling behind by lunchtime.

Whether you are going round the corner or right across the county, packing up the whole house or just needing somewhere to keep things for a bit, we are happy to help.

Every one of those jobs started with a quick phone call and a free quote, no obligation and no pressure. Give the best removals company in Lancashire a call whenever you are ready and we will sort the rest. We will be back with another update before long.
